Teaching and Laying, Intellectually Compounding Foundations ("TLICF," "we," "our," "us") is deeply committed to promoting equity, inclusivity, and respect in all areas of our work. We believe that diversity enriches our mission to transform lives and inspire change, and we are dedicated to fostering an environment where every individual feels valued and empowered.

 

Policy Statement

TLICF prohibits any form of discrimination, harassment, or exclusion based on:

  • Race, ethnicity, or color

  • National origin or ancestry

  • Religion, belief system, or lack thereof

  • Gender, gender identity, or gender expression

  • Sexual orientation

  • Age

  • Disability, physical or mental health status, or medical condition

  • Marital, parental, or family status

  • Military or veteran status

  • Socioeconomic status

  • Language or linguistic preference

  • Any other characteristic protected by applicable local, state, or federal laws

 

This commitment applies to all aspects of our operations, including but not limited to employment, volunteer opportunities, access to programs and services, event participation, partnerships, and fundraising activities.

 

Scope of the Policy

This policy applies to all:

  • Employees, volunteers, board members, and contractors of TLICF

  • Individuals and organizations engaging with our programs, events, or services

  • Partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations conducted by TLICF

 

Our Commitment to Equity and Inclusion

To ensure the principles of this policy are upheld, TLICF commits to the following actions:

  1. Inclusive Practices:

    • Actively recruiting diverse staff, volunteers, and leadership to reflect the communities we serve.

    • Providing equal access to opportunities, resources, and benefits for all participants and stakeholders.

  2. Training and Awareness:

    • Conducting ongoing education and training for employees, volunteers, and board members to promote cultural competency and awareness of implicit biases.

    • Ensuring that all team members understand and embody the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  3. Reasonable Accommodations:

    • Making necessary accommodations to ensure individuals with disabilities or unique needs can fully participate in our programs and activities.

    • Ensuring physical and digital spaces are accessible to all.

  4. Accountability and Transparency:

    • Regularly reviewing organizational policies, procedures, and activities to identify and eliminate inequities.

    • Engaging with communities and stakeholders to ensure our practices remain relevant, fair, and effective.

 

Reporting and Resolution

We encourage anyone who experiences or witnesses discrimination, harassment, or exclusion to report the incident promptly. Reports can be made in person, via phone, or in writing.

TLICF is committed to addressing all reports with urgency, confidentiality, and fairness. We will conduct thorough investigations and take corrective actions as necessary to resolve issues and prevent recurrence. Retaliation against individuals who report discrimination in good faith will not be tolerated.

The TLICF Foundation views equity, inclusion, and diversity as ongoing efforts. We will continuously evaluate and adapt this policy to ensure it reflects best practices, meets legal requirements, and serves the evolving needs of our community.
